About Me

Esther has over 10 years of experience working on sexuality and environmental issues. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from the University of Calabar in 2002.  Esther is a climate change policy expert and trainer with extensive experience in creating, facilitating and managing youth-led projects. She has represented Nigeria and Africa at over ten high-level global governance meetings on sustainable development and has served as the African coordinator of the UN Commission on Sustainable Development (UNCSD) Youth and Children Major Group.

Esther co-founded the Nigerian Youth Climate Coalition, the biggest youth climate movement in Nigeria. also served as a volunteer support staff member with the White Ribbon Alliance Nigeria and convened the first Youth E-consultation on Maternal New Born and Child Health (MNCH) and Family Planning. She was selected as ‘Women Deliver 100 Young Leaders’ for her strong interest in women’s issues and was invited to attend the “Women Deliver” Global Conference in DC in June 2010 and in 2013, She was invited as a Speake at the 3rd Women Deliver Global Conference in Kuala Lumpur. Esther is the recipient of the 2010 LEAP Africa Annual Nigerian Youth Leadership Award and is a Dekeyser & Friends Foundation Fellow and Commonwealth Youth Climate Fellow. and current chair Actionaid General Assembly and 2014 Convener

At the end of 2012 She completed her year-long Advocacy fellowship with Population Action International (PAI) in Washington DC, where she worked  on International Advocacy on Population and Climate Change. She Founder Devnovate Ltd, a young creative start-up that is providing innovative solutions to development issues. She is currently leading the Youth Advocacy efforts on RH/Family Planning and climate Change in Nigeria
